After the passing of two long-term and dedicated Alumni Board Members, the Honorable Sandra A. Forster ŮٱƵ79 and Adele Lerman Janow ŮٱƵ90, the Alumni Board decided to establish an Immediate Impact Scholarship to commemorate the lives of these esteemed alumnae, The Adele Janow and Judge Sandra Forster Memorial Scholarship. In addition to being lively presences on the Board and extremely committed to the betterment of the Law School, both were respected members of the Westchester community and beyond. Through the generosity of the alumni board along with the family and friends of Judge Forster and Adele Janow, law student Reese Frisch ŮٱƵ26 was awarded the memorial scholarship.

ŮٱƵAttending law school has been the toughest challenge IŮٱƵve ever faced, and it hasnŮٱƵt been easy,ŮٱƵ shared scholarship recipient Reese Frisch ŮٱƵ26. ŮٱƵMy commitment to justice drives everything I do, shaping both my academic and professional journey as I prepare for a career dedicated to advocacy and meaningful change. I am deeply grateful for the support of this scholarship, which has made it possible for me to continue pursuing my goals.ŮٱƵ

When Joseph Churgin graduated from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at ŮٱƵ in 1993, he never could have imagined that 32 years later, two of his children would not only be studying law but attending the same law school. ŮٱƵI felt incredibly proud that both Hunter and Emma wanted to attend law school where I got my start,ŮٱƵ shared Joseph. ŮٱƵIt was the perfect fit for me, and I hoped that it would be for both of my children as well.ŮٱƵ

From the moment she learned about Abraham Lincoln in the first grade, Deborah Gross-Quatrone knew she wanted to be a lawyer. ŮٱƵI was fortunate enough to attend a college that had an ABA approved Paralegal program which was very progressive for the 1980ŮٱƵs and that further solidified my interest in the law,ŮٱƵ shared Deborah.
